Transformation

Opening Reception: Friday May 1, 2015 7pm-9pm

Carroll Museums is happy to announce our first art show of 2015. Transformation will feature artwork from a variety of art mediums exploring the theme of transformation.

Transformation is a major part of the Carroll Museums story. Carroll Mansion itself has transformed greatly over the past 200 years: it served as a home, tenement, saloon, factory, vocational school, and recreation center.

Come join us as we explore the history of this house alongside different interpretations of the transformation of space, place and self.

Poetry in a Very Old House: Workshop and Reading

Come join us for our very first literary event of the year on April 23 from 7pm-9pm. The event will take place at Carroll Mansion.

The night will consist of readings and a workshop session.

Participants will engage in a workshop focusing on the concepts of poetry and time, before setting out on their own and writing their own poems. If they chose, they may share this poem with the group afterward, in an informal environment.

Workshop leader Tim Paggi is an MFA candidate and graduate teaching assistant at University of Baltimore. His book Work Ethic is available from InkPress Productions.
